On July 30, the No. 1 unit of the Steam-Driven to Electric-Driven Blower Retrofit Project at the Plate Energy Control Center of Benxi Steel Plate Co., Ltd., undertaken by MCC Huatian on an EPC basis, was successfully commissioned. The blower unit and related systems are operating stably, with all performance indicators meeting design specifications and contractual requirements. The completion of all construction tasks not only provides valuable experience for the installation and operation of the No. 2 unit but also fully demonstrates the comprehensive strength and high-quality project execution capabilities of MCC Huatian's steel sector.
By installing two new sets of complete electric axial compressor units to replace the original steam-driven blower units, the operational efficiency of the blower system has been significantly improved. The triple upgrade—electrification, green power compatibility, and intelligentization—delivers immediate carbon reduction benefits. After commissioning, the decommissioning of the two steam-driven blowers will substantially reduce energy consumption, saving 134,000 tons of standard coal annually. The notable economic and environmental benefits will further optimize Benxi Steel Group's product structure and enhance the competitiveness of its products.
